In 2018, 660 million children were experiencing multidimensional poverty, according to the U.N. Development Program. This is defined by a lack of access to health, education and living standards that include clean water, sanitation, and adequate nutrition.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The World Trade Organization (WTO) projects that global trade declined as much as 32% in 2020.

The global economy is expected to shrink by 4.9% over the next two years. The pandemic’s global economic cost could reach $9 trillion.
